Easy, Healthy and Irresistibly Delicious Homemade Coconut Chocolates

There are many things I love about these chocolates; they are quick and easy to prepare, full of nutrients and the recipe can easily be adjusted to suit your own tastes. They only require a few ingredients and no special culinary skills. This recipe will make 15 pieces and fill one chocolate mold.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 Tbsp. (1/4 cup) Unsweetened Natural Cocoa Powder
  • 2.5 Tbsp. Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Coconut Flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey
  • Pinch of Himalayan Salt

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Tbsp. Hazelnut Butter (or other nut butter)
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Spices (cinnamon, cardamom, etc.)
  • Fresh Fruits
  • Dried Fruits (cherries, raisins, goji berries, etc.)
  • Nuts (whole or chopped hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, etc.)

Homemade Chocolates Ingredients

DIRECTIONS:

Melt the coconut oil in a small saucepan over low heat. After the coconut oil liquifies, mix in the cocoa. Then add the coconut flakes, honey, hazelnut butter and a pinch of salt. Stir until thoroughly blended.

Using a spoon, pour the mixture into a silicon chocolate mold. After you fill in the mold, transfer it to the refrigerator. Leave the mold in the refrigerator for at least one and a half hours.

NOTES:

  • If using cayenne pepper, vanilla or other spices, add them to the mixture before pouring it into the mold.
  • If using fruits or nuts, add them to mold before pouring into the chocolate mixture.
  • You can adjust the recipe to your taste by experimenting with the proportions (make it sweeter, use more cocoa, etc.) and the ingredients (substitute the honey with maple syrup, skip the coconut flakes, add spices, etc.)
