Healthy, raw, no-sugar-added chocolate mousse dessert

Coming up with a new recipe that is equally good for your taste buds, as it is for your health always feels great. This dessert is simple and low in sugar, yet so delicious. The avocado gives it a nice texture but hardly any flavor.
It is rich, creamy and you can make it very quickly. This healthy chocolate mousse has only two main components (crust and mousse) and each of them can be consumed or used in other recipes separately. You can also modify this recipe to suit your own tastes. For some extra flavor you may want to add some chili powder or a pinch of Himalayan salt. But there’s so much more to this recipe than just great taste. It is nutrient dense and full of good fats and antioxidants.

INGREDIENTS:

CRUST:

  • 6 Tbsp. Walnuts
  • 4 Tbsp. Coconut Flakes
  • 2 Tbsp. Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 2 Dates

MOUSSE:

  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • 2 Avocadoes
  • 4 Tbsp. Natural Cocoa Powder

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:

  • Chili powder
  • Himalayan salt

DIRECTIONS:

Add all of the ingredients for the crust in a food processor or a chopper and pulse until ground. Transfer the mixture evenly to the dessert bowls or to whatever serving dish you prefer. You can make single serving desserts or a pie. If you decide to go with a cake, depending on the size of your dish, you may need to increase the amounts of the products.

Once you are done with the crust, continue by making the mousse. Place the mousse ingredients in the processor (or chopper) and blend until smooth and creamy. Divide the chocolate mousse between the dishes, spooning it on top of the crust.
